The bathroom was most concerning. The shower looked incredibly uninviting. The shower curtain looked dirty and stained, whilst the showerhead had a lot of limescale, a shower mat was just thrown in the corner of the shower, and the water from the shower overflowed into the rest of the bathroom. For a hotel that is rated so highly by couples, we were surprised to realise that the walls are very thin.

Whilst staying at the hotel, we were woken up by the noises from the breakfasts being prepared downstairs. The balcony has beautiful views of the island; however it can be uncomfortable if the neighbouring guests are present. Despite this, the cleaners insisted on cleaning the room, and as a result, making us feeling uncomfortable, and rushed to get out of the room. We were never told that rooms must be cleaned every 2 days, and if we had known this, we would have planned our days around this. The breakfast consisted of bread, cakes and doughnuts.

Whilst it may be what the locals eat for breakfast, it was far too sweet for us to eat in the morning. We felt bad for not being able to eat all the food, but there was also no space for us to leave the tray.

We had no intention of breaking the rules, but we had no idea about it. Throughout our stay, we asked the staff about local information to help us get around. We had to do a lot of research ourselves, and work things out for ourselves. Having read previous reviews, we expected that there would be more willingness to help, but instead we were just handed a booklet, which was mostly written in Italian, so we could not understand it properly anyway.

    After this experience, we felt that we were being a nuisance and were reluctant to ask for any more information. The hotel does what it needs to; provides you with a functional bathroom and somewhere to sleep.


    You are given a key to the front door as well as your own room, so you can come and go as you please. On a more positive note, we did appreciate that the hotel room had a modern LCD TV, as well as air conditioning, which made it feel more comfortable. The location is also pretty convenient, with a 5 minute walk to the main square, close to a taxi rank and the local bus stop.

    We feel that this hotel is more suited to local tourists, rather than foreign tourists.
